As many of you already know, eTrickShop is opening a large magic shop in North Carolina later this 2009 year.
Originally we thought we may be one of the biggest anywhere, but we missed the record by a few thousand square feet. "Only a few thousand..." I guess that means we're not even close!
It will definitely be huge though anyway. We've obtained close to 7,000 square feet in Matthews, NC and plan on dividing it up into different areas or sections.
Although, the construction hasn't begun yet, so this might change a bit when we get the exact layout designed, we plan on having a V.I.P. area just for serious magicians. This is an area or room so to speak that professionals can work in and/or network with other serious magicians.
There is a fairly large sized theater going in the back as well, along with several party rooms too. That way I can cut down on my driving all around town, on Saturdays especially.
I figured that instead of needing to physically drive to five or more houses for birthday parties on a good Saturday, maybe some of these parties could just come to me instead. In fact, I've got the party room booked four times already in April of this year and it hasn't even been built yet!!
We've talked about letting outside magicians use our theater and party room as well for their shows too, probably for a small fee, but nothing has been etched in stone yet.
There is going to be a product development area as well. Mostly for the hundreds of tricks we own now exclusively and the many new ones already in the design process. We also plan on helping fellow magicians bring their ideas, inventions, and tricks to the market there too. In fact, when everything is set up, there will be a whole recording and photography studio for trick performances and instruction, a design and packaging center, and whole marketing area too.
I'm not sure exactly how it will all fit together yet, layout wise, but I will keep you posted.
If you can't tell, I'm extremely excited about it! Plus, what I've mentioned so far was just a few of the highlights; there is much more that will be revealed as we get closer to opening day.

Welcome to eTrickShop's new blog
In thanks for all of your business and support over the years, I decided to give this blog thing a shot. I know that many of you are already professional "bloggers", but I'm a newbie.
Any help from you, and you know who you are, would be most appreciated.
The goal with this is to give you the information you want all in one location while allowing you to personally share your own ideas and techniques as well.
I believe we can all improve no matter how many years we've been doing magic.
So let me know what you want to blog about. Maybe you would like to share ideas about new tricks. Maybe you want to know more about old tricks.
Heck, maybe you just want to learn more ways to market yourself and book more shows!
Send me a comment or two and I'll do what I can.
Thanks,
Jason
